Terms of service
Last updated 31 October 2026
The short version: use Lumen to show scripture faithfully, keep only what you have the right to keep, and be able to correct anything it gets wrong.
Using Lumen
Lumen is provided to help a church show scripture during a service. You may use it for congregational worship, teaching and study. You are responsible for the account you sign in with and for what is shown on the screen you control.
Scripture texts
Every edition in the library is a public-domain text, shown so that a church can read and project it freely. Comparative sources โ the early fathers, the manuscripts, and the sacred texts of other traditions โ are offered for study and never presented as scripture. Reference recognition is a best effort: an operator should always be able to correct or replace the passage on screen, and Lumen makes that a single click.
Your content
Saved verses, saved services, summaries and transcript excerpts belong to you. We claim no ownership of them and use them only to run the app for you. You can delete them at any time, and you should only save what you have the right to keep โ including any recording or transcript of a speaker.
Availability
Lumen depends on a microphone, a browser, a network connection and third-party services for scripture text and, when you ask for it, summarising. We work to keep it running and to keep the text accurate, but the app is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted service, and it should not be the only copy of anything you need to keep.
Acceptable use
Do not use Lumen to record people without their knowledge, to publish text you have no right to publish, or to attempt to disrupt the service for other users. Accounts used in that way may be closed.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that affects what you can do with your records, the date below changes with them and the app will say so. Continuing to use Lumen after a change means you accept the updated terms.
